It’s the first snowfall! As I am sitting at my window, drinking my coffee I can’t help but smile as I watch everything around me begin to hide under a thick white. It’s just so beautiful. As I have said before, I am more of a summer person. I don’t like the cold weather and I welcome the warm sun on my skin every chance I get. However, I am completely giddy today over the fact that it looks like I am living in a snow globe. I haven’t stopped smiling and staring in amazement since I woke up. Now, I don’t completely hate winter. There are quite a few things I love about this time of year.
1. I love the fact that this time of the year calls for so many family get togethers. First, Thanksgiving and then Christmas. I have an extremely large family and often don’t see them all as much as I would like to throughout the rest of the year. The holidays allow me to catch up and make so many new memories with my amazing family. I truly feel blessed.
2. The snow. Alright, there I said it. I love the snow. I don’t like the cold weather but, there is some kind of warmth that fills the air when it snows. Maybe it’s all the happiness that comes with the snow. You know, the school cancelations, the building of snowmen, snowball fights, late night walks on quite streets. It is all so wonderful.
3. That I can bake as much as I want without being judged. I love to bake and recently found my talent for baking delicious homemade treats. I could bake cupcakes every day of my life. But, that may be frowned upon. Except for this time of the year! If you tell someone you’re starting to bake for Christmas, it’s totally acceptable.
4. Wearing warm pajamas and slippers. I am a sucker for pajamas and matching slippers. They make me so happy.
5. Drinking hot chocolate.
What do you love most about this time of year? I would love to hear!
